Weekend before Christmas

We had a great but busy weekend last weekend. My aunt Kim passed through Tuscaloosa on her way home to Mobile, and she stayed the night. She had never been to our new house, so that was fun. The next day we went to Jon's parents' house for our Christmas with the Waltons. Hi brother Ken, his wife Stephanie, and their children Cecily, Shelby, and Lane were all in town from Tennessee. Jon's sister Laura, her husband Judd, and their little boy Asher live in Bham, so they we were all there! I played dominoes for the first time in years. It was fun!

Everyone else got to eat a great Christmas dinner. I had to eat my toddler food--turkey and mashed sweet potatoes with nothing in them. Very sad.

They went to church with us the next morning. It was a great Christmas service with all of the beautiful Christmas songs. Then we hosted our first family meal. It was very simple and Donnelly-friendly: cassoulet, chicken corn chowder, pecan pie bars, and four-layer chocolate dessert. Some of it was fat-free and Donnelly-friendly. By the time Sunday night arrived I was exhausted but managed to wrap a few presents.

First post

This is our first post. I (Donnelly) thought it would be fun to start a blog now that we're having baby #1. He's due March 2. We think we have a name, but I don't know that it's definite yet. So for now I'll call him Baby.
